About me

Let's bracket the philosophy for now. This page is about me.

My name is Stef and i have been an avid reader my whole life. I think it was the Harry Potter books that caught my attention at young age. Reading has been a leading line in my whole life and eventually the spark that led to the creation of this page.

My agency has always been a topic of self-reflection. I studies psychology, in which agency is of course a big area of discussion and research. Afterwards, I studies Ethics of Business and Organizations, in which the area of agency is of course as well a big topic of philosophical debate.

And in this year, Agency as a notion hits me even more so. I am now 33 years old, a young professional making its way on the corporate ladder, and actively performing a balancing act of personal life, family life, friends and my career.

Because there are so many things to focus on, I wanted to write about things that caught my attention: the events that my mental state focusses on. Because in this time of postmodernity or supermodernity, we have to chose what is important and what is not. And to know what is important to you and what not, is also to be able to balance more efficiently the challenges that arise with having an adult life with adult responsibilities.

I will add to this page things I think that I have learned about my agency

What I have learned so far

  • I like niche authors and their philosophies, like Augé and Camus;
  • I feel heavily about the meaning of work to be more than just a means to get by;
  • I am critical of right wing and leftist poltics although I do consider myself slightly leftist. My critique of leftist politics is about the strength and logic in their arguments;
  • I care deeply about valid and logical arguments, although I don't uphold myself to these standards (yet);
  • The world does not listen enough, and I think the world would be a better place if we tried to understand eachother more.
